Reach out and touch me…Winters cold icy grip at Freshwater Bay by Jason Swain.
The dying rays of low winter sunlight illuminates the clouds above just moments after a brooding malevolent rainstorm has passed over Freshwater Bay. A wave at the end of its journey dashes itself on the sea defences, and its icy fingers reach to the sky, as if trying to grab a passing gul and drag it down to a cold watery grave.
Not my usual photographic description today, I thought i’d try a little poetic flight of fancy to go with this shot from the last saturday evening of 2012 at Freshwater Bay. These are the commentaries that play in my mind whilst i’m ‘in the moment’ and shooting, but i generally keep them to myself and let the pictures do the talking 🙂
Two frame vertorama, shot with the Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens on a Canon 7d camera body, exif data = f/5 at 1/160 ISO 200, handheld of course!
