The morning after the night before – A Freshwater Bay Landscape by Jason Swain. I went for a wander up on the cliffs at Freshwater Bay earlier today to shoot some landscapes, seeing what i could find on the morning after the St Jude Storm. What i love about the place is how it is all completely unchanged up there, you could say indifferent, it’s just another wild and windy day on a stretch of coast that has seen it all before.
And after a really busy summer of working events and weddings and commercial shoots, i’m loving being able to get back out there and do the thing i love just for the sake of it again. In all likelihood no one will ever want to buy a shot like this, I cant see any immediate commercial use for it, but it makes me feel really good to be out there creating it and getting lost in the process. By the way, don’t get me wrong, i’m very thankful for all the paid work this year, I’ve got bills to pay like everyone else and its not easy being a self employed photographer, but its refreshing to be out shooting creatively just for fun again.
