Surfing at Compton Bay, Isle of Wight by Jason Swain. My favourite frame taken from a sequence of surf photos taken of local longboarder Alan Reed at Compton Bay yesterday (March 31st 2013) , which i called as the wave of the day (well at least it was whilst i was there!). Disappointing for me to miss out on surfing this day through feeling unwell, but its some consolation in being a surf photographer and at least getting to do some mind surfing whilst taking pictures.
You can view the complete sequence in a photo blog of Surfing at Compton Bay on the soul surfing website.
This is a different edit to the rest of the sequence, just trying to make the water look slightly less brown and cold in this one, as I know it confuses my online friends who live in sunnier and warmer climes.
Shot with the Sigma 50-500mm telephoto lens on the Canon 6d camera body. I’ve lost the x1.6 magnification that i used to get using the lens with the 7D body, but the quality from the 6d is stunning.
Exif Data = f/6.3 at 1/640 ISO 100 244mma
