Isle of Wight Waves by Jason Swain. It seems like such a long time since we’ve had a proper clean surfing wave on the west side of the Island, so forgive me for dipping into the photo archives for a Surfing Vertorama taken at Compton Bay back in March 2013 when it felt like the clean winter groundswells would never end…
This one is of top local longboarder and occasional punk rocker Alan Reed, sometimes known as ‘greedy reedy’ as he does catch a lot of waves, fair play to him though, he’s one of the year round surfers, and i’ve seen him paddle out in big challenging winter conditions when a lot of people wouldn’t, and in my mind those of us who do that, deserve to get a few of the choice ones when they come around.
Two frame vertorama (vertical panorama) shot with the Sigma 12-24mm wide angle lens on the Canon 6d full frame camera body.
