I tawt I taw a puddy tat a creepin’ up on me (part three), originally uploaded by s0ulsurfing.

Real wildlife drama in my own backyard. Not the most amazing photos (and ok, not the most amazing drama, its not an alligator taking out a wildebeest), but it was fun to watch this little story unfold all the same (see all four pictures on flickr by clicking the image). The Cat had the upper hand on size, but the squirrel could move at a few million miles per hour, and seemed very smart and patient, the result was a goal-less draw (for now).

And from a photographic point of view, wildlife watching lately has been a challenge, with it mostly taking place on very dull days or late in the evening requiring very high ISO, slow shutter speeds and a steady hand using the 500mm without a tripod. The bit of blue sky in the main picture here has been an isolated occurrence.
