Compton Beach Walk by Jason Swain. It’s the annual ‘walk the wight’ here on the Isle of Wight today, where up to 12,000 people walk from one end of the island to the other (from Bembridge to Alum Bay which is about 26.5 miles) so i’ve found an appropriate walking photo to share.
The walk is organised by the Earl Mountbatten Hospice to raise money for patient care at the Islands hospice, please visit their website to see how you can donate to this worthy cause.
Good luck to all taking part, its been a glorious sunny start to the day here in the west wight, hope you all make it to the end before the predicted rain arrives!
I’ve done the walk myself a few times in the past (the last time was about 3 years ago) and its a tiring but uplifting experience. I’m not taking part this time round and probably wont even make it along to take photos today. This year i’ll be swimming across the solent for local charities in the ‘Solent Swim’ organised by the west wight sports centre, and if you’d like to sponsor me you can do so here. http://www.everyclick.com/jasonswain2013
